Biography
Dr. Cymes is an Astromaterial Scientist at NASA Johnson Space Center on the JETS II contract. Her research involves applying transmission electron microscopy techniques to study terrestrial and extraterrestrial materials to better understand micro- and nano-scale processes occurring across the solar system. She is interested in analyzing returned samples and experimental analogues to learn how different minerals and materials are affected by various planetary surface environments. Dr. Cymes supports the Electron Beam Laboratory Suite where she manages the JEOL JEM-2500SE FE-STEM.
